just felt like i need to submit something, even if that something is a crappy project i did back in basic art with paint made from of eggs.

So: egg tempra on canvas paper, like 10 by 20 inches, not that it matters. You can explain away the beauty and simple symmetry and fluent color variations of a crusty piece of dog-doo on the lawn, but any way that you say it, it's still a piece of dog shit.

this is from basic art (aforementioned) and was a project in whoich we had to copy one of the masters' masterpieces, so i chose van gogh: [link] . Whereas this does not demonstrate my artistic capacity to its fullest, i do feel that i need some of my older stuff on this site if only for the sole reason of showing my artistic "growth" - or lack there of. Oh, fuck the self-deprecation. I know this sucks and i know that i'm capable of better now; and here i am still, getting defensive, running in circles with my words.

Audience: "shut up already and push the submit button!"

Well, I like it. Granted, I can't paint, but I still think it to be quite a decent piece. What was the original of this like? The colors are nice as is the composition.

Jeff, you make me :rofl: It is funny how defensive we can get when we show old stuff;) I am loving to see where you have been and where you are now. This piece to me shows the promise of the artist you are now, which to me, is extrordinary! I know you are going to be studying some very intensive subjects at college but I sure hope you will never give up your art!

Actually, I like your version better than Van Gogh's :) Much more interesting composition so it makes the eyes seem more intense and emotional.
